Science Museum
A local family favorite, the Greensboro Science Center is a one-stop destination with a museum, zoo, and aquarium. Among its many exhibits and animal experiences, you can discover dinosaur fossils in the museum, walk beneath a 36-foot Tyrannosaurus Rex in the Extreme Weather Gallery, and learn about the human body with interactive exhibits.
The zoo features exotic animals like meerkats, howler monkeys, gibbons, and crocodiles. There are also a number of farm animals in the petting zoo. Kids will love the treehouse playground which is a highlight of the zoo.
The Wiseman Aquarium is home to sharks, jellyfish, stingrays, and a plethora of other sea creatures. Aquarium
The Greensboro Science Center is home to a museum, aquarium, and zoo. Its newest addition is the Carolina SciQuarium, which houses penguins, sharks, stingrays, anacondas, and other water-dependent animals. It also has an underwater viewing window and a 90,000-gallon tank that simulates a Caribbean reef.
Kids can dig for fossils in the Prehistoric Passages exhibit, learn about wild weather in the Extreme Weather Gallery, or touch real snakes in the Herpetarium.
